From Kindergarten to Contentment: My Assumption College Journey

Thirty-three years ago, I walked through the hallowed halls of Assumption College of Davao as a hopeful applicant for a teaching position. The future was uncertain, and I carried my dreams and aspirations with me. With a stroke of luck and the warmth of this institution, I was not only accepted but also embraced with open arms, setting the stage for a lifelong journey of growth and transformation.

I began my journey as a kindergarten teacher and little did I know that it would be the start of an incredible chapter in my life. For 17 years, I nurtured the youngest minds, watched them grow, and experienced the joy of teaching in its purest form. Those early years were filled with laughter, curiosity, and the unfiltered wonder of childhood.

As time passed, I embraced new challenges and roles within this institution. I took on the responsibilities of a subject area coordinator, guiding students in their pursuit of knowledge. Later, I assumed the role of an academic supervisor, where my focus shifted to empowering and mentoring fellow educators. The journey continued, and I wore the hat of a prefect of discipline, ensuring that our students learned not only academic lessons but also values that would shape their character.

A new role awaited me as I became the head of the Learning Resource Center, a place of exploration and discovery for our students. I witnessed their thirst for knowledge and the boundless potential that resides within each of them. These roles were not just positions; they were opportunities to make a difference in the lives of countless individuals.

Now, as I stand at the threshold of a new beginning, I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude. It is time for me to bid farewell, not with sadness, but with the excitement of new adventures and the promise of a simpler life close to nature. These years at Assumption College of Davao have shaped me into the person I am today, and for that, I am eternally grateful.

I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to this institution for nurturing my growth, supporting my dreams, and allowing me to be a part of an extraordinary family.
